Yesterday morning I heard a bird singing from the trees in front of the house. I wasn't paying attention but the song tugged at my conscience... What is that?! As I became conscience of the song I recognized it as a Bay-breasted warbler. He was singing from the top of a Virginia pine and keeping well hidden from my gaze. He then flew off toward the north. If only I had had the recording gear with me at that moment I could have gotten a great Bay-breasted warbler song on tape. It will certainly live on in my memory for years.
